Submitting My Rough Draft?
Well today when I was looking at MyCompLab and my email I found out that no where did it show that i submitted my rough draft, which is complete bull. I know I did because I had to change my citations from how I normally do them until I'm done with my paper and go back through and put them in correct format. Ugh, I hate computers. Something like this happens everytime I need to use the computer/internet for projects for school.

My Thoughts and Feelings on Peer Editing My Groups Papers...
Well, I really don't think my group has put too much effort forth in their rough drafts. Some of them seem like they are only 2 pages long! Granted I can't really judge because I'm looking at them online when I edit, but they were no where near the 8-10 pages the final paper has to be and it's due in a week! Hopefully, it's just because they were slacking and didn't really care about the rough draft because otherwise they'll have a lot of writing to do over the next week. I dunno, maybe I'm too rough on them because I work at the Writing Center and I've been trained to avoid every possible english mistake (SPLIT INFINITIVES) with Sideris last semester. Who knows? Hopefully the rest of the papers (if they submit them on MyCompLab) will be well written.
Rough Draft/Peer Editing
Well my rough draft is coming along. I need to work on my organization some though because I feel some of my sentences are just not in the right spots yet. Maybe I just need to expand on my thoughts there though instead? I dunno. I started peer editing people's papers in my group though last night. Some were good, some not so good. Hopefully this peer editing thing will work out well though, because it is important to have someone else besides yourself looking at your papers. I would suggest that people use the Writing Center because they can really help improve your writing.

Rough Draft
Today I submitted my rough draft. I think for a rough draft it's very well written although I think I did the citations wrong. I do need to figure out what I want to say for an introduction, but I have learned to do that last to know exactly what I'm introducing. Also, I need to include more of my personal feelings and opinions about the facts I have included in my paper. I am actually worried about going over the page limit though on this paper.

You can lead a teen to sex ed... By: Sharon Jayson. USA Today, 09/08/2008

Ideas
Well I've narrowed down my possible topics to three: sex education in America, why more people enjoy the superbowl ads than the actual superbowl, and hacking.
- Sex Education-I chose this one as my first choice because abstinence-only plans just don't work in my opinion. Most teenagers won't stay virgins until their wedding night and they need to be taught the benefits of using contraceptives to avoid unwanted pregnancies or sexually transmitted diseases. This is why I think schools should teach their students the comprehensive sex education program.
- Superbowl Ads-This is my second choice because I find it fasinating people get just as excited about the commercials as the superbowl, if not more excited. Why is it that some people will tune in just to watch the ads? Also, why is there just as much hype about them?
- Hacking-I chose this as my third choice because I know very, very little about this. Also, I saw a video clip on cnn.com about somebody who hacked into a road sign and warned drivers about zombies. I found this hillarious. I'd like to learn more about this, but since my little amount of information I chose this as my third choice.

UGH! I Hate It When...
I dunno about you, but I just can't stand it when people do stuff that annoys the heck out of me. I mean I tolerate quite a bit, but gosh, I just really hate it when people push my buttons. Most of my pet peeves are quite normal in my opinion. Some of my pet peeves include:
- People chewing with their mouths open. It's just disgusting and annoying having to sit next to someone that chews like a cow.
- When people think the whole world owes them something. I just can't stand it when you see people walking around with the attitude that the world served them some unjustice and because of that EVERYONE must pay them back somehow. Get over yourselves and whatever your problem is.
- People who clearly shouldn't even be allowed to operate a vehicle can. Now, I'm not saying that I don't have a bad case of road rage, but when there's a horrible driver out I will get a bad case of road rage. How do these people even pass their road test? I dunno, it's way beyond me.
I guess most of my pet peeves have to do with people who just act stupid. Doing stupid things aren't cool and you just look stupid and like a huge brat when you do them.
What Do I Know About Reseach?
With my teacher last semester I had to do quite a bit of researching. We had to write four papers; the last one being at least 15 pages! So I got quite a bit of practice using different research tools around the library and online resources. During high school, I also had to complete a paper for my senior project about the career I choose to job shadow. Needless to say, I did quite a bit of researching online for that paper too. I think I'm a whole lot better at doing research papers than I am at creative papers because I can work a whole lot better arranging cold, hard facts than my own ideas. This is why I'd choose to do a research paper any day over having to do a creative one, like the obituary I had to complete last semester. Hopefully, this semester we won't have to do creative writing, although, I doubt we will because why would this course be writing and research if it wasn't all about research.
